Frenare in corsa?

Buongiorno a tutti
è dal 1988 che uso il Mac ma un conto è guidare e un altro è sapere come funziona il motore della macchina.
Ho dato il via alla procedura di inizializzazione con Utility Disco con la scelta di inizializzazione sicura per essere certo che i problemi citati in un argomento precedente (viewtopic.php?f=9&t=48406) non si ripresentassero.
Il disco è da 2Tb sono due giorni che sta inizializzando (siamo a metà percorso) e purtroppo non mi sono reso conto che sono bloccato perché non posso montare dischi e neanche ovviamente riavviare.
Cosa mi consigliate di fare? Se esco da Utility Disco si rovina il disco?

Molto probabile.

Per l'inizializzazione sicura ci sono quattro posizioni che vanno da nessuna a più sicura.
Il primo step dopo nessuna scrive su tutto il disco dei dati casuali e poi degli zeri una sola volta.
Il secondo step scrive su tutto il disco dei dati casuali e poi degli zeri due volte.
Il terzo ed ultimo step (più sicura) scrive su tutto il disco dei dati casuali e poi degli zeri sette volte.

Tutto spiegato quando imposti quell'opzione.
Ovviamente nessuno lo legge.

Se hai scelto l'ultima, sono otto passaggi.
I regolamenti di sicurezza della CIA chiedono tre passaggi (secondo step). Non è una battuta.

E allora perché è stato inserita l'opzione ad otto passaggi?
La prima ipotesi che mi viene in mente è che in Apple ci sono alcuni sadici psicopatici, che se ne stanno ben nascosti, ma ogni tanto fanno scherzetti come questo.

Bastava una semplice inizializzazione senza riscritture.

Non è come con la ruggine, che se non la togli in profondità e rivernici, poi ricompare.

Quando avrà finito, esegui Drivedx per confrontarne i risultati.

Ok quello che volevo sapere me lo avete spiegato bene, grazie. Avevo letto l'avviso ma non avendo mai scelto questa opzione non avevo idea che durasse tutto questo tempo; ho scelto la terza…su quattro . Forse per Natale avrà finito. Pazienza mi dedicherò ad altro, ho giusto alcuni mobili da fare e alcuni limerick da illustrare così mi rilasso
